STOP! Micro Waste

STOP! Micro Waste is an educational initiative launched by LANGBRETT that draws attention to the (micro)plastic problem and initiates solutions to avoid plastic. Through knowledge transfer and activities in nature we educate and develop STOP! Stations to reduce and avoid the discharge of plastics into the environment.
Not only large plastic parts like packaging are a problem if they end up in the environment, but also so-called microplastics. Small plastic particles and fibres end up in nature, especially through the abrasion of tyres and the washing and use of synthetic textiles. There they accumulate various chemicals and are kept for food by aquatic life and birds. The ingestion of these microplastic particles can lead to infections, reproductive disorders or even starvation of the animals. Via the food chain and the air, the microplastics eventually return to us humans.
In order to prevent the discharge of (micro)plastics into the environment, we educate about the (micro)plastic problem and encourage individuals and companies to change their handling of plastics towards a resource-saving and cycle-oriented approach.
About the STOP! Plastik Akademie we share our knowledge and experience from research and practice. We give workshops at schools and hold lectures at universities and companies. In our multiplier training courses, our participants learn to understand the plastic problem, develop solutions together and encourage others to act. In our projects, we answer questions on the subject of plastics: Where does plastic actually come from? What influence does (micro)plastic have on the environment and our health? What do plastics have to do with climate change? And why is bioplastics not a solution?
Understanding the (micro)plastics problem is the first step towards creating sustainable solutions to the plastics crisis! More information about the work of STOP! Micro Waste can be found on our website.
